The process is in the early stage of forming a series of framework options for a small retail/community hub.
The site itself exists between two key community amenities, the Ts'zil Learning Centre, located on the east end of the site, is an Aboriginal Post- Secondary Institute and member of the Indigenous Adult Higher Learning Association servicing the Lil'wat Nation, Mount Currie, and Pemberton Region, and as a satellite campus of Capilano University.
On the other side of the site to the West, the newer gas service station already functions as a busy community hub of sorts, with gas and retail services and the community mail boxes. Below-grade infrastructure has also been installed for future rapid charging stations.
The Friendship Trail is a multi-use off-street trail in the process of construction that will eventually connect Mount Currie to Whistler, and could be extended through these sites to the Ts’zil Learning Centre. The Trail and the region's bike-friendly scenery and diverse cross country and downhill bike trails will continue to draw visitors to the areas.
